Global War-n-ing
Are we making progress?
Fast food
Remote-controlled kids
Allergies
Phobias
Boil in bag meals
High stress
High Sodium
High Caffeine
Big House
Huge Mortgages
Long commutes—
they give you time to read the business section at
least .
Online:
Purchases
Dating
Sex
Prescription drugs from Tijuana
Gifts galore... charge the card some more.

It's almost embarrassing to admit that you
cook from scratch, immigrant style like Grandma and
Grandpa,
when they had nothing,
but now it looks like they had everything.
Fresh food
Stewed bones
Gather 'round the kitchen,
Not the computer.

They should give those computers away for free,
because in the first two weeks you will buy
so much useless stuff it will pay for the entire thing
in commissions to Dell, HP, and Apple.

Lost touch.
Art is human.
Cooking is human.
Telling stories is human;
not advertiser-sponsored tales, soap-and-
drug-selling pitchmen.

When I grew up nobody was allergic to:
peanuts
milk
ice cream
eggs....
blah blah and blah blah blah some more...
Eat your veggies , kiss your dad on his cheek,
love your mom for her kitchen, play outside ‘til
you're so
dirty you leave a ring around the tub.

Hit the pillow and out like a light;
don't have to share your life with
a buddy list the size of a small town.

Stop all this bullshit:
Be a man; be a woman; be a child.

Turn off the lights.
Eat your veggies.
Let Momma or Daddy cook.
Let Papa or Momma work.

Think about the earth.
Do we hate being human so much that we have to
cover up ourselves with so much with polish?

Can't cook, ruin my nails.
Can't work; make sweat stains on my Polo.

Paint the cave walls.
Suck the marrow from bones.
Grind the roots and seeds with your molars.
Huddle around the fire.
Keeps what's useful, discard the rest.

We've gone too far,
we’re too far gone.
