Driving Mr. Michael
Men mostly drive women.
Usually, men don’t make good passengers.
Even when they aren’t driving,
they still try to control the car.
They check the mirrors and
turn their heads to let the driver know
if it’s OK to go, or say “Watch out,
here comes a guy.”
Some men riders try to
prevent accidents by stepping on
the floor mat.

I prefer being the passenger.
My wife drives me around.
She’s a better driver than I.
When I go places with male friends
I always offer to let them drive.
I’d rather relax while they operate their car.
I don’t check the mirrors for them.
I figure that, like nearly all people, they spend
a great deal of time driving alone and
are capable of checking their own stuff.

I chat, listen, and look out the window.
